Urban block centres designed as full ecosystems
Located within the ZAC des Groues (urban development zone) in Nanterre, this urban block centre has been conceived by the STUDIO MUGO teams as an entire ecosystem. The biotope, which is made up of buildings and the projected topography, will allow to create differents environements, depending on the hydrology , the nature of the soils, and the exposure. The plantation will include native plants inspired by Ile-de-France’s natural environements. The humid areas at the heart of the project will offer a large flowering range and a rich biodiversity. A linear afforestation along the North East mews will act as a visual filter for the centre. Intersected by open mesophile grasslands, it will create an opening and closing effect, which will allow to glimpse on the urban block centre.
