Extension of a protected forest into an athletic park

The landscaping project for the Jules Hunebelle stadium features sport activities between the city and the forest. The restructuration of this part of the territory is directly connected with the Meudon forest, a wooded area classified as a former hunting ground with high ecological and landscape value.
The project offers to enhance and extend the living natural fence by bringing the forest into the middle of the site. The athletic park is conceived as a shifting landscape, where plants support the topography and make it easier to see the spaces.
Through its wooded surroundings and its topography, the Jules Hunebelle centre is set in a territory both specific and sensitive, connected with the site’s characteristics. The forest edge is being recreated, which guarantees a visual and social coherence, while integrating some sport-related uses. This work on emptiness, which is specific to the landscape, has helped reconnect the different buildings and turn them into high quality spaces, offering users a better quality of life.
