Beauregard
Restoration of an historic garden in an 18th century Chartreuse
The story of Beauregard dates back to the 12th century and the Order of the Knights of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem. A magnificent Gironde chartreuse opens out onto a landscaped park, created by a pupil of Victor Louis, the architect of Bordeaux’s Grand Théâtre. Decade after decade, successive owners of the vine-growing property contributed to its development and towards its rank as one of the best wines in Pomerol. As part of the park restoration, its owners appointed STUDIO MUGO to design an agroecological promenade. The presence of water is also enhanced inside the park by the development of the bank of the moat and a belvedere on water.
We merged our landscaping approach with an organic wine-making approach.
