Castle Petit-Village

Located on the highest part of the Pomerol plateau in the Bordeaux wine region, you will find the triangle- shaped 10.5 ha vineyard Château Petit-Village. STUDIO MUGO was tasked to enhance the features of the castle itself, which sits at the heart of it, with three objectives:

Firstly, make the castle visible from the distance.  The gable walls will be dressed with a mixture of vines and shrubs to create an interesting pattern. The castle’s initials will be painted on the wall. A tree with striking foliage will be used as a landmark. The castle will perfectly fit into the environment, while catching the eye from the distance.

Then, create a cinematic entrance to draw people’s attention from the very start. The path must be easy and visually attractive. The parking area will be surrounded by perfectly aligned lime trees and bowers. Visitors will be led through a green hedge.

The central courtyard is designed to welcome visitors and embody the spirit of Petit-Village. A guided water trail has been arranged. The use of the chromatic palette will bring out the beauty of the plants along the walls. Vines will be among those plants to remind visitors of the property’s winemaking activity.
