Gecina La Défense West

MUGO GROUP was commissioned by Gecina for designing the landscape of a space located at the foot of the building and a 2nd floor terrace. This project follows Gecina’s policy in terms of valorising its estate through the enhancement of its green spaces.

The project started with a revalorization of the existing building to develop new usages and allow both

users and biodiversity to settle in those spaces. To open up the well planted ground floor clearings with benches alternate with groves, creating a dynamic promenade, while the wooded framework expands into the entrance of site. A petanque terrain and a bike shed will be installed. The terrace benefits from good sunlight which engulfs a natural and edible garden in natural light. There, can also be found a garden with wilder plants and a more natural appearance, a vegetable garden with open access, a co-working area and a space for yoga.

Thus, those spaces are beneficial to both biodiversity and users’ wellness. They allow for self-management of the landscape, internal wood cycle and a reduction of carbon footprint.
