Inauguration of an avant-guardist Eco district in Poissy (78)

The town of Poissy, Citallios, a Consultative Engineering and Construction Company, and MUGO have inaugurated the garden of the Rouget-de-Lisle Eco district at the end of September in the presence of the mayor Sandrine Dos Santos and the MP Karl Olive.

This pop-up garden, attached to the Maison du Projet, is reminiscent of the green spaces which are to be found on the district’s cultivated roofs.

It will host events throughout the year to allow the inhabitants to discover the benefits of urban agriculture, the principles of agroecology and the wealth of local biodiversity. Designed and delivered by MUGO, this garden was conceived to be movable and benefit the neighbourhood even after being deconstructed. The raised vegetable beds are palletizable and will be moved to a school nearby. The trees will be replanted in the park.

The opening of the Jardin du Projet is the first step in the urban agriculture strategy developed by STUDIO MUGO in 2021-2022 for the Ecodistrict Rouget-de-Lisle. On completion of the garden by the end of 2035 the district will have about 3,000 m² of crops on roofs. This project perfectly illustrates the diversity of MUGO’s activities striving for more resilient cities. Well done to Érika Kérisit, Agathe Lautier, Camille Couteau, and Sébastien Moirat for their active contribution.
