STUDIO MUGO winner of Domaine La Bruyère housing project in Versailles

The domain is home to an incredible plant diversity, which STUDIO MUGO plans to increase. The Studio’s vision comes alive through an innovative approach based on the observation of the French forest environment. The old park is turned into natural afforestation. More than 600 trees will be planted in order to form a true green island. A forest edge with various landscape typologies will be created: clearing, groves, undergrowth and small squares. The MUGO GROUP will be in charge of the park landscaping, drawing inspiration from the natural ecosystems to combine the management of rainwater, native plants and wetlands, which will increase biodiversity and provide future inhabitants with an exceptional quality of life.

Pauline Géhant, Project Manager

Led by Emerige in collaboration with STUDIO MUGO and the architects Franklin Azzi and Chartier Dalix, the housing project sits in the protected and listed neighbourhood of the Château de Versailles, close to the Madame Elisabeth Estate and its park of 7,2 hectares. The domain has been bought by J.P. Morgan Asset Management.

This key project for Versailles includes 94 accommodations across 1.6 ha. Designed by STUDIO MUGO the landscape embodies the identity of the place. STUDIO MUGO establishes a virtuous dialogue between the living heritage and the facilities designed by the two architects. The project opens up the whole neighbourhood with the development of a public alleyway integrated to the north part of the site, creating a pedestrian link between the streets Saint Charles and Pasteur and making the plot of land more accessible.
